The PDBA agreed that keeping the date was most important, so the venue was moved 10 miles north to Ridgefield Washington.
Venue Parking Address 109 Division St, Ridgefield, WA 98642
Registration – Registration will be at Vancouver Lake Rowing Club & Vancouver Lake Aquatic Center (VLAC) or at the Ridgefield race venue (address above) from 12 PM to 8PM.
Paddlers who get in late on Friday may register on Saturday morning at race site/venue. They request late registrations to arrive at 7AM, please.
Practice – Are offered Thursday and Friday. Please contact Jeff Campbell to get a practice time if not already arranged
Tents – There is no shade at the venue. We will have the same tent set up at the venue for the visiting teams. The PDBA hopes local teams will bring as much shade as possible. It looks like 90 and sunny both days.
Parking – It’s free and it is right behind the team tents. Literally.
Food and Beverage – We are blocks from restaurants and stores. We will still be providing the water. The same food vendors are coming to the event plus local vendors may set up.
Water – The racing is on Lake River. It is extremely clean. The Port dredged the river a few years ago and it has a flat, sandy bottom. The lanes will be narrow. 9m is the minimum for championship racing and we have just that much space. It will be exciting. It is slightly tidal, but the race grid is set up so that there is very little impact by tides. Most of the racing is based on placement and the smaller divisions all race for time with all teams in the same heat.
Festival – They are looking into this, but may not be able to run the festival 10’s and will keep the same time gaps and should have basically the same schedule.
Travel – The venue is only 16 miles north of downtown Vancouver. On a weekend morning it’s maybe 15 minutes difference.
Venue Layout – see the attached pictures. The race course is marked. The box is 500m by 50m. The box on land it where we will put the tents. The small red box is where we are putting the docks. Marshaling is just above. The view of the racing is perfect.”
